I have used divining rods, to trace the water pipes around my place, the do work to about a foot. But for drains they only really work when its been dry and you get a down pour.
Do non of your neighbours have access to a PTO retro jet drain cleaner. I know you can hire them. They will clear routes and silt, to a point, but if its a full collapse I doubt itll work, unless you see it break the surface, however I suspect youll have a root through a pipe.
For a bit of self preservation you could put in a 6 inch aco drain to route whats encrouching your place over the kerb down into the field, or at least bypass your buildings.
I have one accross my drive, and have reshaped the rest of the drive, T shape to run water away from the house and on down into the field. I reacted quickly a couple of years ago after the pipe under my drive blocked and the stresm flowed down towards the house. With out a digger we would have had the stream running in the back door and out the front.
