I packed up smoking rollies in 2012 and took up vaping. The 30 quid a week (more now) I no longer spent on fags went into the workshop fund.
Out of that, I built the workshop, bought sundry tools and kit, a bike ramp and another motorcycle.
Mine is a very similar story. I no longer smoke but am increasingly worried about vaping. I may soon quit that too.
I smoke roll ups. Have done since I was 17. Now aged 45 . I don't get mine from over the counter. A 50 ounce pack will last me a couple of weeks. I pay a tenner a packet. £20 a month.....I personally enjoy a smoke . £20 a month is less that what the average bloke spends down the pub a night. Life it's self will kill me in the end with or without smoking.
Another very similar story to my own. Having ridden bikes since basically forever, I was convinced I would never die from natural causes. Time dragged on, still not dead
Meantime the fags were rotting my body from the inside out. It's not the fact that smoking will inevitably kill you, it's the long slow lingering demise that convinced me to stop.
For anyone who still enjoys smoking despite thinking they know the risks, may I strongly suggest they do not investigate the effects of emphysema. Ignorance is bliss.
You'll have plenty of time to discover the effects. Years possibly, maybe even decades and it it quite possible that it won't ever even kill you; after all, you'll be safely tucked up in bed struggling to breathe.
