Hello,
I'm trying to make the best of a bad situation here...
I recently repaired a chassis on an classic commercial vehicle. I used some 3mm 100x100mm box for some chassis rails. When welding the 3mm steel I was on the edge of what the mig was capable of. I though 150amp would do it but it's simply not got the penetration I want for a chassis weld when running full power.
Would grinding down the weld and running over it all with an arc be an option?
I don't really want to fork out for a big mig that i'm not going to use to it's full capabilities and time soon!
But if a cheapish arc can do the job it'd be a useful tool to have.
thanks!
Tom
