Some time ago, wife decided that she would rather like fog lamps retro-fitted into the existing blank holes in the bumnper of her 2001 Renault Clio. Naturally, I decided to see how much the official kit was from our friendly local Renault Dealer - £221, plus VAT
Naturally, I made my way to the nearest scrappy and got a pair of lights for £25. A £16 switch from e-bay and, reluctantly, a £40 front fog lamp loom from the dealer and I'm ready to go.
A quick check in the fusebox confirmed that the front fog fuse was already fitted. Nice. Things got even better when I discovered that the relay too was already in place. Imagine my delight, when I discovered (after fitting the ne switch) that some kind person had even pre-fitted the warning light into the dash cluster. This was beginning to look like an easy job.
Well, a good four hours later and I'm stumped!!! For the life of me, I can't find the under-bonnet connector to fit the front fog lamp loom into.
Maybe it's just me, but I can't seriously believe that they would go to the lengths of fitting the wiring for the switch, the warning lamp, realy and fuse and then delete the pick-up point in the underbonnet loom!!!
Not sure if we have any Renault specialists on here, but if anyone has any bright ideas (sorry) about where I might be able to find the plug under the bonnet (think it must be near the front nearside light) then I will be forever in your debt.
Cheers,
Ian.
