Could you double check what I'm thinking. This is the hand pump and ram on my 3 tonne car trailer. It seems to need bleeding as it takes a good few pumps before anything starts moving. It's a simple bottle hand pump connected to a ram.
I'm thinking that air would be trapped in the ram. So I should pump until the ram is fully extended, disconnect the ram from the trailer so that I can position it so the air rises to the end with the hose, then open the release valve and compress the ram.
Basically the same procedure as the nurse uses to bleed a syringe before doing a vaccination.
The hose is getting a bit old, anyone know somewhere low cost to get a new one made? Looks like 1/2" Male on one end and a banjo connector on the other.
