You talking about something like this:Sockets no good when you have wound the head off easing oil & heat will hopefully remove the threaded bit with head still on, blasting the threads will also help.
Wish I had found the induction heaters whilst still working on the vintage classics.

Have you actually tried removing it yet? Looks easy enough from your pictures, bit of penetrating oil, decent fitting spanner and give it a whack.Bish, bash, bosh, job done.
Just set fire to the car and be done with it....

Acetylene has been bannd by my employer due to the fire service becoming concerned about the number of cases where there's been a flashback, the cylinder is cooled for the requisite period and returned to depot/yard and then proceeds to go bang. Oxy/propane now only allowed as hte propane is supplied as a gas in the cylinder not the sponge-full-of-acetone that is an acetylene cylinder.Is OA Still a common thing in garages with the insurance Co wanting to know regarding hot work induction no flame
