Interesting (& cheap) alternative. cut a PCB track & swap a varistor (not sure if the little piece of heat shrink & nail varnish are really necessary)

Interesting so -------would it be possible to leave the original in place and fit the other varistor as well and an extra lead and then have 240 OR 110 ? might be handy for site guys ? you would have to have a adapter that didnt leave live prongs on plugs though.
