Does your lathe have one of those poxy oil nipples tucked away right in the recess of the spindle pully? Mine does and it's a right pita to get oil in but if you don't oil it, it will knock. The only tool that gets into it is the genuine Myford oil gun at £60 a pop.Morning guys.
What oil do you guys use on the drip oilers for myford. I did a Google search and as usual it took me to a site forum and 300 different opinions and arguments over what oil should be used.
I removed the nipple and replaced it with a little cap head bolt and I turned the end of my little universal oil gun down to get in there. So I can remove the little bolt and give it a pump of oil in there now. It's an awful little thing to get to. DONT mistake it for a grease nipple or you'll be pulling the head stock apart.
