I have this -
What i want is one of these -
One of those headder tanks is crazy money - i think theyre £200 or so!
What im thinking is that i could chop the top off the DHW tank, remove the coil, fit a ball float, and ill be done.
Minor irritation - i bought another tank, as i was going to use the top from the second tank, inverted, as a lid for the first, but the purchase did not work out (i think the ebay seller realised the auction had ended at less than scrap, and it suddenly got 'stolen from his yard')
So, i only have the one.
Any ideas as to how to make up a lid, so as the condensation drips back into the tank, and not down the side to put stains on the ceiling?
If i just chop the lid, it will obviously be a smaller diameter than what i need to cover.
....the reason why im doing all this is that i dont have a plastic tank large enough, and we have a solid fuel appliance, so metal is probably better anyhow - its not for potable water, just a headder for our 300ltr thermal store, and CH system.
