Welded plenty of steel before but I've got a small aluminium job to do and this is the first time I'll have attempted to MIG weld aluminium.
From reading up on here, I understand I need a teflon liner and an oversize contact tip to weld aluminium. I'll be using 0.8mm 5356 wire and I have a 1mm contact tip.
My question is, what size teflon liner should I buy? Blue (0.6mm - 0.9mm) or Red (1.0mm - 1.2mm)?
I'm leaning towards the blue liner as it matches the wire size I'm using, but if an oversized tip is recommended does it follow that I'd be better off with an oversize liner too?
Anyone with any experience in such matters? Thanks.
