Take a 40*40*3 pipe and assemble an 80*80 pipe from 4 parts. A little more work than usual.

I recently made some railings and a gate for the back garden.
It was far cheaper to buy a bigger set £20 on market place and alter them to fit my gap.
Materials have gone through the roof so I often look around and see what can be bought cheaply and remade.
One of our local scrap yards have twigged to this and now keeps lengths and off cuts to resell, usually just under half the new price.

Ordered 12m of flat bar from Brundles yesterday morning which was waaay cheaper than anything I could find on line.
Had to pay the £10 delivery cost which is a bit steep, but their "provisional delivery" of today didn't happen. I guess it could if I had an account or signed up.
If you don't have an account, you can't track it - or maybe if you do you still can't - could do with it tomorrow, their updates are a bit rubbish..

I've always found Brundles delivery to be excellent in all honesty. There has been a couple of times it was delayed but mostly it comes on schedule. All the big stuff is delivered by their own drivers, who have always been very helpful and lended a hand to unload and carry it in. £10 is very reasonable, a lot of companies charge you nearly that for a standard parcel courier thesedays!

The free delivery threshold is fairly easy to hit, so I normally save up an order if I'm not in a rush.h Their prices with the delivery are usually still better than my local wholesalers even when I collect.

It still might be worth a phonecall to them to check, as I've had one time where it was delayed because an item went onto back order.

Another vote for Brundles, can't fault them. As others have said £10 delivery isn't much at all. Not when you factor in the cost of diesel / general vehicle running costs and the drivers salary.
As a society we're too used to "free delivery", when in fact nothing is free, the delivery cost is just baked in to the mark up of the goods being purchased.

The only thing that bugs me is when I purchase 2 of the same item and they turn up in the same envelope, but no discount on the price.
