It's Happened - The Crow Got Me!

I've managed to stay clear over the past 3 years but I've now got corvid!

It was inevitable really, both my parents currently have it & I'm their carer so plenty of unavoidable close contact.

Had mild cold symptoms over the weekend but testing clear. Then yesterday I woke up feeling like someone had tipped a ton of bricks on me, waited until I dug myself out & then tipped another ton of bricks! Every bit of me really hurt. I tested myself & I got a very faint line on the test.
Not quite as sore today, only had 1 ton of bricks last night!
Got some of the common symptoms - splitting headache, temperature, cough, aching all over but some weird ones too. Very restless sleep, with strange dreams/hallucinations (my Mum is getting these too) and I can't pee properly when I get up, as if there is a blockage somewhere.
I was worried about my Dad as he has several underlying health issues, including COPD but after 2 days lying on the sofa he's up & about today, recovering quicker that my Mum or me.

We found out today where we likely acquired the corvid. My parents were on a bus outing with a group of other senior citizens. One lady was coughing & sneezing over everyone & feverish. Tested herself next day & she was positive for covid! But she had managed to infect at least a dozen folk on the trip. She was on another bus trip a few days earlier & a load of people on that trip came down with corvid too! So that one persons selfishness/stupidity has infected a lot of people, both on the buses plus secondary infections like me!

I know exactly what you mean, i got it myself pretty bad around april and still dealing with early fatigue to this day, a 6 hour work day feels like i've done 14 and i'm falling asleep right after dinner for a good 4 hours, an 8 hour day is barely even possible right now, its slowly getting better but hopefully you don't have to deal with that.

Just one question though, can I have all them bricks?

It is strange, 18 months ago we went to a 60th birthday party, It was heaving & a good time was had by all. At least 20 people caught covid that night including my wife, Yet i didnt get it. she was quite ill & neither me or our son caught it from her.
Then Nov the 5th i helped out at the bonfire party, I felt a bit rough & had a headache which i put down to the fireworks & smoke. Had a few beers afterwards in the packed clubhouse & talked to loads of friends. Next morning felt bad so tested & lo i had covid.
Nobody else there got it unlike the previous event.

I've been feeling rough for a week or so, nothing bad but just a bit off colour. I've tested negative twice, maybe it's one of those old fashioned colds

Incredible that the Covid vaccines didn’t stop you getting Covid,but it totally eradicated influenza, funny that…

doesnt feel same as flu though , at least flu is gone after a week or so , this drags on weeks one day you think you are better then next day feel like death

weve just had it again , think mrs picked it up from air travel , had it 3 or 4 times now , must be due a prize lol

I’ve had bad bouts of flu before that properly knock you out for 4or5 days and take a couple of weeks to get over.
I had Delta variant Covid and I didn’t get out of bed for 2 weeks, couldn’t walk and talk at the same time for 6 months and took well over a year to fully recover

Social distancing plus a vast increased flu jab program is what eradicated influenza. Flu is very much less infectious than Covid so social distancing is more effective

Sorry to burst your bubble mate, but flu has not been “eradicated”…. A vast number of supposed covid infections are flu , but it’s trendy to jump on the covid bandwagon, as suggested by our media…

ive had 2 jabs . not having any more and never had a flue jab makes me laugh when people say ive had the flue 90 percent havent just had a bad cold you wouldnt be standing if you had the flue . only ever had it once

Yup, the health department has indicated the same, so they -have been sewer testing instead, said it's
here (the new variant) and it's picking up.

Also caught it, came down with symptoms fast yesterday, was feeling fine in the morning - lightheaded and dizzy by 14:00.

First time I've caught it since January 2020.
