Thanks for that. The grinder has an odd system where you traverse the table to one end then supposedly use a can to pump oil into a long trough above the ways, then it trickles along and down a weep hole. I'm worried that if I use my lathe way lube which is quite heavy, it might not travel fast or far enough.

Magna ZA is a very old grade – would be an ISO VG 10 today so Castrol Magna 10 ideally which comes in 20L smallest - so an ISO VG 10 hydraulic oil maybe a better bet ?

Possibly to counteract the light floating tableI sent a follow-up asking if the ZA spec oil came in any other viscosities, just in case. The reply was that ZA is 10 weight but he agreed that it was unusual for a slideway.
I think I'll get the 32 I can always thin it out a bit.
