Note the chalk line I've run along the exisiting wall.

But the wall should be sitting in the middle of the footings not hanging off the edge.

There's a reason i make sure my quotes are very specific. Means everyone knows exactly what's happening.Well if I wanted a new wall to line up with the old one I'd have dug the bloody footing central to it! You would think its obvious that the slabs would need lifting or cutting back with a 9" grinder! I know the old wall is a bit bendy but we like it and want to leave it.
