I wanted a footing laid to extend this garden wall, come home from work on Tuesday and saw this!
Note the chalk line I've run along the exisiting wall.
Been putting off looking at it again untll tonight and it's worse than I thought!
Kin useless.
Or, is it just me?

I suppose it depends what instruction you gave, did you asked for a foundation along the existing path?

probably looks worse because the edge of the path isn’t straight either.

no big deal just slice it strait with a stihlsaw job done. its only a manky old concrete path that existing wall is like the leaning tower of pizza

What you can't see is that the wall is only single skin and the chalk line is on that side, the right hand side of the pier is going to be in the middle of the footing not the wall itself!

sorry i have to go with the above comments

i would need permission off of next door and the price changes due to costs with both sides unless you want it as one quote

Undermine. Pour footings. Trim paving that's obviously moved back to the boundary line.
If you undermine and shutter to the paving level can get a poker in to ensure its well filled.

I asked for a wall that extends the old one, yeah I know it's a bit ******! The neighbours are going halves on the work so would be no problem lifting the slabs.
The slabs on the left are the neighbours.

it would be lift and replace some of those slabs as they look like they would break on lifting them

if quoted that then they should have been lifted dug an overlap then filled foundations in and then rebuilt the wall before laying slabs back down

You have an issue there I wouldn’t pay for a wall to be erected on those footings if it’s to join onto the old wall.

you need a site meeting with builders and neighbours before any more work is done.

Or stick a flag in it Are they supposed to have taken the old path up? the old wall looks to have no footings anyway. How deep is the footing and if it goes down at the side of the path you should be ok to build on any of it.

I got someone in so I didn't have to do it. It was done while the soakaway was being dug so it made sense (or so I thought) to get it done at the same time!
I just wish I'd done it myself now.
I've not paid anything yet.

normaly when you get jobs done you ask whats the score . how they are going to do it and tell them what you expect or want. both parties should have input and agreed on a price

Well if I wanted a new wall to line up with the old one I'd have dug the bloody footing central to it! You would think its obvious that the slabs would need lifting or cutting back with a 9" grinder! I know the old wall is a bit bendy but we like it and want to leave it.

There's a reason i make sure my quotes are very specific. Means everyone knows exactly what's happening.
Had they been specifically told they could remove the path of was it just assumed by yourself that it was obvious
