The Rural Development Commission was one of those really useful organisations that the government decided to shut down about 10 years ago.
At their Salisbury headquarters they ran training courses in rural crafts: thatching; upholstery; saddle making; iron mongery etc.
I have a number of books published by the RDC which include four on wrought iron work.
Before putting them on Fleabay I thought someone on here might be interested from a historic perspective. £5 each plus what ever the postage is.
The books are:
Decorative ironwork - some aspects of design and technique (2 copies 1987 and 2000 reprint)
Wrought ironwork - a manual of instruction for craftsmen (1989)
Catalogue of drawings for wrought ironwork (1989)
Email me if you're interested astonbits@hotmail.co.uk
Cheers
