We've recently had our extension finished so my old prefab leaky garage has been replaced with a nice insulated, though only single (boo), garage.
Just before we started building work I had bought an Elliot progress drill which ever since has lived in my father in laws garage, but last week I managed to lug it back home.
As bought it was pretty clean and absolutely no marking on the table and very little play in the quill. Now I've been able to have a proper look I can see that although there is very little play the bearings are as dry as a Zanzibar ditch diggers flip flop, and have decided it's time for a good old strip down and rebuild.
Turns out it's full of sawdust so between this and cutting up my old kitchen units to make some shelves the garage is currently looking like a chippys workshop!
Only spent a couple of hours so far, but managed to get a fair bit stripped down (including getting my vice bolted to the bench) - not sure I'm gonna be able to get much more done this week due to work commitments but hopefully will be able to report on some more "progress" (geddit?) soon!
