Been thinking about buying a mig welder for a while, but several other projects keep eating the budget up for new toys, but noticed this in the paper today. Now I've never so much as touched a welder before and have read here that maybe a gas mig would be easier for a newbie, but no gas would possibly be the better option for me from what I've read.
So does anyone have any thoughts on the quality of the machine ? I know this is pretty much as cheap as you can get, but if you had some experience, could you get a decent result with this ? My use would be very limited ,so the price makes it an attractive option. Spending £200 + would mean putting this off for a while, and at this price, even if I hardly used it or got into mig welding, it must still have some value if I wanted to sell later on and get something better. I should add that if learning to mig goes well, I might have a go at some car body repairs and making a body shell rotisserie.
The blurb is :
12 months warranty
25- 130 amp range
6 power settings
Turbo fan
Non live torch
Includeds starter kit - face shield, wire, wire brush and hammer.
