Evening all, have been scanning through this rather good forum for the last few days and mightly impressed
Anyway, I am looking to purchase a MIG welder but realistically not sure where to begin.
I have seen a combi MIG 140 by Wolf ... though have read the none too favourable comments on Wolf products ... so obviously wondering if it is a good idea or if I should buy a Clarke/Sealey straight off. The ad for the wolf reads "30-135A turbo fan cooled, features smooth DC output, select between gas and no-gas, pro non-live torch, 6 power settings and all the accessories you'll need" any comments/thoughts greatly appreciated!
The intention for use is automotive welding, the welder will require the ability to weld tinfoil (I kid you not ... Citroen Dyanes/2cvs) panels and relatively standard exhaust systems, nothing overly thick at any rate.
Most of the work I'll be doing will also be outside off of an extension lead. I'm not keen on the idea of hobby sized gas canisters, so would require the ability to convert a unit to or have one that takes a larger cylinder, again thoughts welcome!!
