Hello all
Decided thats its time I got my own welder, done a bit before at college but didn't get very far. (note to self don't attempt learning welding whilst dreadfully hung over!)
What do people suggest?
Will want to work with 5-6mm plate to fab winch mounts/ bumpers. Maybe do some non-vital pipe work (ie wing bars as opposed roll over). At present I can't see a need to do thinner material.
Bearing in mind it won't get that much use and i'd rather not spend that much. How much do I need to spend to make it worth it?
I know that mig is supposed to be more versatile, but if i'm just welding thicker plate won't arc be cheaper?
Cheers
Nick
