Hi all
I am about to embark on some DIY projects namely gate manufacture at my home.
The material I will be using will consist of 25mm RHS, 25mm x 8mm flat and maybe 10mm round with fillet weld being the most common joint.
Ive have done quite allot of arc welding in the past but it was quite a few years ago now.
I was thinking of buying a TIG because I thought it would give me more options in the future for further projects because you can ARC weld with TIG and also do more varied range of materials and thicknesses.
Is a low cost TIG capable of this type of project
The welder Ive seen is this, capable of up to 4mm rods:-
TIG 131 CLARKE 230V - 130AMP ARC / TIG INVERTER WELDER
I would like advise of all please , I am unsure what sort of amps I will need for this first project.
Or should I just get a ARC welder at around £100 if so please some recommendations would be great.
Many thanks in advance
