OK Guys,
Only tried (VERY VERY briefly) a little bit of ARC welding to fix my bike exhaust flange, and I was only assisting really. What I wanna do is make a bike trailer, which my mate will help with, but I need to start welding. We have looked at MIG, and what I need to know is this really:
How long does a gas canister last? I have read that its about 2 foot of weld, and that doesnt seem much, and could work out expensive.
Does gasless perform as well, and are the costs less. ie no gas required but higher wire costs?
Can you weld thinner panels with ARC?
Dont wanna spend a lot, as this is only going to be used occasionaly, and for me to learn. I have read about this live feed, and I didnt even realise this was an issue. Dont have a lot of dosh, was really only looking to spend about £100, and from what I read here, that wont go far enough, so was contemplating ARC.
Any help much appreciated.
