I am looking at buying myself a MIG welder and finding it very hard to come a decision given the myriad brands and models out there.
I have an old Oxford arc which I have used a lot over the years and I have used MIG's a few times but never owned one. I am planning a few projects which will require a fair bit of welding so am keen to get a decent MIG. I will be making a couple of trailers, some shed doors and work benches so welding the likes of 3mm box tube.
I have been looking at the Parweld XTE 171c (£378inc) and the SWP MIG 170 Turbo (£324inc) which seem to fit the bill. The Parweld is the absolute top of my budget, would it be worth the extra £50 over the SWP?
Would I be right in thinking these are a step up from the Clarke options out there?
Any guidance here would be useful and any other suggestions welcome.
