Hi all
In several other threads I have cover my MIG experience , and my lack of welding skills and a desire to weld bicycles and 1.5 – 2.0 mm mild sheet so what is it to be ?
Probably the cheapest option ?
http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/165tn-arc-welder/path/professional-arc-welders £130 [ vat free £110 ]
But a Inverter would make MMA a little easier and give me Scratch Tig later if I wanted.
http://www.r-techwelding.co.uk/welding_equipment/Arc_MMA_Welder/Arc_Welder_R-Tech_MMA140M £188
http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/p...ter-welder/path/plasma-cutters-arctig-welders £212 [ vat free £180 ]
http://www.southcoastweldingonline....PageHistory=&strKeywords=&SearchFor=&PT_ID=71 £277
http://www.weldequip.com/tecarc-166i-dc.htm £279
I think £300 is more than enough to spend for the little use I will make of it , hobby welding say 2 bikes at 2 months each a year.
But which do I chose ?
R-Tech is £50 more than full price Clarke 165TN I can see what I am getting for that.
But the TECARCH 166i is £91 more than R-Tech and both have a 2 year guarantee , not sure what I get for my extra money ?
It needs to work off a domestic plug and I realise it would be short sighted of me to buy a machine only capable of doing the job [ say 80 amps ] when I would get a better duty cycle and it would be more versatile if I bough a machine at the top end of the range.
regards Paul
