Hi all
I am just embarking on a project making candle lanterns and need to build some metal sheet roofs for them. The metal I am hoping I can use cos its almost free is the metal shells of old washing machines which I think is steel sheet but could be aluminium (any ideas on this please let me know) and is between 0.5mm and 1mm thick. I will be overlapping the metal at the joins and then just puting small spot welds at various places along the join as major strength is not needed and its really just to keep sheets in place.
From my initial investigations I was looking at a mig welder with a low amp setting? Is this the write kind of thing for what I want to do?
All advice greatly recieved!!
Thanks
Rupert
