Have come down on Clarke 151EN or 160EN, there is a £70 odd price difference.
The only difference I can see in the spec is a higher voltage on the 151 and a higher duty cycle rating for the 160, this seems to imply a better transformer on the 160. Is this so and is it worth going to the higher rated 160??? I want to weld thinnish material with the MIG and I like the idea of gas/ gasless. I have an ordinary Arc welder of upto 250 Amps limited by my single phase mains supply for thick stuff. Is the choice reasonable especially on a VAT free day at Machine Mart. Will the 160EN weld < 1.0mm easily with 0.6 wire and CO2/Argon gas, and how good would it be on other metals, stainless etc.
