I have a Stainless Steel threaded 20mm bar that i wish to weld, although i am unsure of what grade it is.
One end is M20 threaded, and the other tapers down to a M12 thread. I am looking to chop this bolt in the middle, and weld in a section of 100mm M20 Bar, to extend the overall size.
Now im trying to figure out whats rods to use. The manufacturer, states that it is Stainless, however it is magnetic.
If i was to weld in 304 Bar, would i use 309 Rods for dissimilar metals?
