Hey, and sorry if this has been brought up before.
I'm currently Useing a Huge old Oxford Oil cooled stick welder, and although this is brilliant for in the workshop, It is not very portable.
I'm currently investigating whether or not to buy a inverter type welder, and currently I am looking at either a SIP INVERTER 175, or a Clarke AT150. the latter of the two being preferable in terms of price and the range of current
(5-150A supposedly) However it does not give a duty cycle, the SIP giving a pretty unbeatable 96% at max output.
So onto my questions.
Firstly Would a Inverter be sutiable for working on every thing from sheetmetal to Excavator Buckets?
What should I look for in an Inverter (probably a stupid question, but i've never brought a welder for more than £50 before)
And If so which of the two would be best, Or are there any others for under £500 that you can reccomend
Thanks Roz
