Hi,
*Insert general rant about the high cost of disposable gas bottles here*
I probably get through about 10 of these a year depending on what I'm making. I want cheap gas without running out every other time I use my welder but also without the commitment of an annual contract etc.
So, having looked at my options: continuing with disposable, trying to obtain pub CO2 gas,or paying extortionate prices (for a hobbyist) from BOC etc, I did some searching online and came across this:
http://www.gasbottleswimbledon.com/rentalfree.html
I've not checked prices yet but wondered if anyone else had come across this kind of arrangement before?
Also, it seems like Argoshield is the way forward for MIG rather than using CO2 (CO2 is all I've ever used). It seems these guys do an 'Argon mix' but I've not checked to see if this is likely to be similar to BOC's Argoshield. Any thoughts? I'm only ever welding metal up to about 4mm if that makes any difference.
I'm currently out of gas so desperate to find a solution before I drag myself into Machine Mart for another bottle of overpriced air!
Cheers
