Hi all,
Recently I've been considering going to live in Australia with relatives. The skill set that I have at the moment is not particularly in need over there so I won't be allowed to go on this basis (not enough 'points'). I've talked to a migration consultant and they reckon that one of the best ways to go and stay is to get a job and get sponsored by your employer. This leaves me with an opportunity to go to a technical college (TAFE) and learn something new before I get a job (a student visa will allow this). So I was thinking about doing welding/fabrication etc. I'm coming to that point where I'm sick of looking at computers, answering phones and all that office stuff. I want a proper job.
*Conversation at dinner party*
"What do you do for a living?"
"Oh, err, I'm a software engineer."
"Ha ha ha. I build the mighty ships of the ocean. I am all that is man."
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Jim
