Hi all,
I'm thinking of starting a new career in welding. I'm mature (45 years old) and would study part time. I did some research and eventually had a salesman come to my house yesterday trying to sell me a £5,500 course comprising a number of City and Guilds level 1 and 2 awards. Would it be wise to take this offer? The course apparently takes an average of 14 months to complete and comprises 8 full weeks of onsite practical training at a training centre in Elstree. Is this sufficient to get a 'proper' job in welding? I mean, will employers take those certifications seriously enough to pay me a decent wage? Will I be a reasonably competent welder? Here is the list of modules in the course:
Any other info would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Chris
