Hobby level novice here, be kind!
I want to make a water table for a CNC plasma cutter, but I cannot get my head around the welds. They are the first to rust, right?
Also, even if i use 8mm steel for the walls and the floor, the welds will be the first to corrode through, right? Kinda negates using thick steel as a rust proof barrier.
So what do people do when building watertight tanks and so on, if the welds are the weak point?
I'm planning on using U channel for the 4 sides, and then welding in a floor, thickness to be determined.
Something like this but b.
Would love pointers, this has me puzzled altogether.
