Having a selection of welders available for different jobs used to be a lovely thing..when I had the space to store and use what I wanted. Now we've downsized to a single long garage and a 20'x12' shed, from a 6 can garage, ive drastically ran out of space. I've also destroyed a couple of the larger welders, leaving me short when it comes to agricultural repairs.
So, I've been looking at both individual units, and multi process units..but that's as far as it's got currently! At the moment I've narrowed it down to 4, maybe 5 units;
Lincoln 215c - a touch over my price range
TecArc Multi 200i - HF Tig draws me in
TecArc UltiMig 20300 - Purely Mig
XTM 252i Multi Process - Lift Tig, unfortunately?
RTech MTS255 - Multi Process
Obviously the less I spend, the happier the Boss will be, but, I've had a few bits that push the limitations of the ESAB Mig I'm currently using. I've a maximum of £1500 at the moment.
The TIG I've got already is around £160 to fix through the guys in York, I forget the company though, which doesn't seem a bad price at all.
Has anyone got experience with any of the above machines, or alternative suggestions?
Thanks,
Steve
