Hi Everyone,
This forum is top-notch. I am new here and had a good read around, but couldn't quite find a 100% answer to my dilemma:
Looking to purchase a nice mig welder, which can be run off a 240v 20A supply and do the following in order of importance:
1/ Car bodywork repair and modifications
2/ Stainless steel exhaust fabrication
3/ Stainless steel other fabrication up to 5mm
4/ Mild steel fabrication up to 10mm
5/ Aluminium manifolds(perhaps) up to 10mm
Use would be infrequent, but when , then likely for many hours continuously. Ease of use is a high priority. Budget ideally below £500 but could stretch to double that if it would make a big difference. Have about 10 car restorations ahead of me to start with
I really thought along the lines of a portamig 215 or Kemppi Minarcmig180, but am open to corrections/better options.
I would really appreciate as many opinions and suggestions as possible, as this is now really doing my head in!
