Yep, everyone's favourite term "vintage".
I've bought a job lot of spares or repairs early/mid '70s, a Sony cassette deck, a Sanyo receiver and a Pioneer receiver for £35 the lot.
The cassette deck now works perfectly, just a seized idler pulley pivot so the other two now technically owe me nothing and I'd like to try and get them working but my electronics skills are almost zero.
I'm having a go at the Sanyo receiver, it all lights up fine but there's absolutely no sound at all.
Nothing appears to be burned out.
According to some extensive googling, the prime suspects seem to be the output transistors though people say that if they're shot there's usually other parts gone too.
Are there any tests I can do to narrow the faulty parts down or is it a case of desoldering and testing?
Remember....I know 3 parts of zilch about electronics so layman's terms only please.
