have read this thread on the Awelco board that suits UniMig 240

have the same issue with the encoder, it is unreliable when making adjustments
rotating the knob leads to erratic adjustment in the screen
the encoder is an ALPS 24 detent, 24 pulse however the current ALPS model is smaller than the original
soldered in a new one but whilst it improved the unreliability, the issue didn't go away
so I soldered in a second one but it got worse, Ive noticed any downward pressure on the knob down jumps from min 05 to max 50 wire feed. It appears the component isnt rugged enough for the job.
Does anyone have experience with these boards, if so, their recommendation for replacement encoder
