After trying several industrial benders to form seat stays from 35 thou 5/8" 4130 for a bike frame I gave up and made my own.
Machined in alloy I have one former for each raduis I want to bend. The groove is machined to a depth of 3/8" and an exact fit to the tube diameter.
A roller follower is machined to the same spec as the former as is the static tube clamp.
A series of holes drilled at 5 deg increments allow me to make repeatable bends.
So far so good, bends are good with no crimping and minimal distortion.
