It is time to swap out the old Thunderbolt AC 225Amp welder with a new DC Inverter. I'm looking at the kemppi minarc evo180 and Transpocket 180 from Fronius.
I use most 1/8(3,2mm) and 5/32 (4.0mm) electrodes and assume the two welders above can handle this. The question is, why does the kemppi machine cost £469.00, and the Fronius £899.70? Kemppi can handle 170A when stick welding and Fronius 180A, but it costs nearly twice as much. Is it really that much better?
Anyone tried the two machines and can share their experience?
