Hi I have a cem (cemont ? dual mig 120 ). The torch for this is u/s anyone know where i can get a replacement torch or a alternative one . Told by my suplier that this welder is no longer made . I think the mig is a 1987 model
cheers NEIL
Hiya Neil..
Have u still got this welder by any chance?? Mine is an 88 model CEM DUAL MIG 120.. ( got it for a few quid but she gave up recently )
Left the thing in the garage and after a few days of non stop rain condensation must have built up on some parts inside and blown the two of them beyond recognition.. there're only pins sticking out from the pcb Its on the left hand side of the radiator where 2N 3055 is soldered in.. There is a BC 237 tranny, 10K resistor and a 1N4004 rectifier diode.. the two parts next to it are gone.. dont know what it was.. it could have been a zener diode or just a resistor or both.. Was trying to find any infos about this welder.. but obviously no joy.. Is there any chance if u could send me a few pics of this pcb?? I'd really appreciate it.. it may save me a few quid if i can make that granny work again..
Welcome All The Forum Users.. Am new to this forum and need to apologize for my misconduct ))))))))))
Got a pic of the pcb before i took all the components ( had to print it again as someone was trying to do some improvements and damaged it. then soldered it using some wire to replace missing copper ( clever ) Got a pic of a Welder it came from and got a pic of a new board with a few elements on it. Am trying to find what was right below a 10k resistor and that 1N4004 diode. The org board was made by CEMACS and its symbol was TL14 if it helps in any way.. This boards might have been use in some other welders.. if someone has any idea please let me know.. I'd really appreciate
well i fixed the problem, the variable pot, wire speed controller was dead, so not telling the board what PWM to put out. it seems to have blown out the control board. its seems the resistor died but i replaced the transistor and small chip too. works all good now.
Ello .. Sorry for late reply.. just too busy at the moment.. Hate this time of the year.. Folks have all year to get their jobs done.. but for some strange reason always waitin' for xmas.. ))))) but back to the subject..
Yours board was different.. i gave up eventually and bought Clarke.. still have that CEM cos Tranny and Choke are spot on.. What i've done tho is:
Copied Clarke's PCB and ( when I get some more time ) try to fire up The Old One with new board .. Let u know the score.. ( if am still here )
