The time has come to look for a new Mig. Sometime ago i started this thread and thank you by the way to all those that had some input.
Finally the job i specifically wanted a new plant for has come to fruition and my old welder isn't really cut out for this task. A lot of plug welds that are pretty specific. More details available if required.
I'm not overly comfortable with inverters because of zillion pound repair bills.... convince me they are good! Machine will only ever get light use in a good environment and sometimes wont even be turned on in a year.
I know there are a few dealers on here so you guys are welcome to tell me what the best deal you can do on what plant and take it from there I'm still open to suggestions and the Oerlikons are still in the running. It seems such a minefield out there these days Esab, Lincoln, Miller, parweld, thermal arc, Jasic to name but a few, doesn't it just hurt your brain?
My basic criteria is:
Must take .8 wire
Must have a spot timer
300ish to 350 Amp range
Single or 3 phase.
Standard consumables
Budget around the 1k ish mark (pending the deal on offer, so 1k not set in stone)
Not massively complicated with tons of idiot buttons and settings. I'm a Simpleton.
Be able to be sat for long periods and just work when turned on (Reliable)
Makes me weld better.
You make a public post in this thread saying you love me when i give you my Money.
Edit: Needs to be a machine readily available. I need to get this sorted within a week or sooner if possible.
I will probably want a few other bits and bobs to go with said welder
Bonus points but not essential:
Capable of doing stainless and Ally
Good low amp range.
Holds a good resale value.
Free trail period of new plant for 40 years...... i think i should be dead by then.
I wouldn't want and don't expect you to discuss finance on an open forum so my number can be found in the sig link or pm is good.
Thanks in advance.
