Hi, I've been using a clarke 135te mig welder for the last year or so. I have recently been able to have a go at some tig and I'm now hooked on the tig and am looking for a TIG machine. I have seen some 160 amp machines on ebay from an italian company called "TIGMIG" which on paper look quite nice and seem to sell for about £400.
Ideally I'd like something which has button (HF) start (that's what I've been able to use so far and I've been told to avoid cheap scratch start machines although I've not had the chance to try scratch).
I'd like something with a small physical size as space im my garage is limited. I'm not sure if I will keep or sell the Clarke MIG.
It won't get used that often as it will just be for hobby use, I don't need a high duty cycle as I spend more time measuring and setting-up than welding.
I don't need massive amps, so far I've not needed more than 60 (on a 255 amp machine). 100 amps should be fine.
I only have a regular 230v supply and idealy I'd like something with a 13amp plug so I can take it round to mates house etc.
One day I may want to try alloy welding so an AC mode would be nice but not essential as machines with AC seem to cost quite a bit more.
