In fact why don't all of us have a tin that we use daily?
You rejected my offer!

That's why you should sleeve pipe holes with a clearance size tube of plastic or copper then put the heating pipe through so it can slide about noiselessly The " gentlemen who installed our new replacement heating were rather pee'd off when I made them take out all four plastered in copper pipes and slip them in 22 mm copper sleeves where they passed through the walls .Central heating pipes where they go through beams is another use. Stops them squeaking when they heat up. Guitar and mandolin tuners is yet another good use. In fact why don't all of us have a tin that we use daily?
I was talking to the shop guy where i bought my bits about the Graphite powder and oil trick and he reached on the shelf and gave me a small tin of what i can only describe as jet black car wax..he said don't get it on your hands, i know why now great stuff and really brought it up well will post a pic up tomorrow of it.What did you use to black it in the end? It looks like graphite on the first picture but hard to tell with the light.
Here's a question - my daughter has a gas version of one of these - what's best to do with it? Somehow I don't see it selling for much?I was talking to the shop guy where i bought my bits about the Graphite powder and oil trick and he reached on the shelf and gave me a small tin of what i can only describe as jet black car wax..he said don't get it on your hands, i know why now great stuff and really brought it up well will post a pic up tomorrow of it.
But the stuff your using is good for direct heat, flame/embers etc as in firepitsI make and sell fire pits.
We have tried everything. I mean everything you can easily get.
The only one that’s worth it is Mipatherm. Stove paint.
You need to read the instructions and cure it properly. Make a fire with cardboard first then after an hour or so gradually increase the temperature.
It’s about £40 a tin. Guy in Germany sells it to me. It’s cheaper that way.
Edit to your latest.
Stove black is like boot polish and goes on with a cloth. We tried that. It’s good but not idiot (public) proof at the curing stage
