hi all im new to this and am doing a simulated weld of an open neck flange 33.2mm onto a series of pipes ranging from 50 NB to 150 NB, all with 2.77 wall thickness, the procedure would cover for multi run as the WPQR i was given was a 3mm plate single bevel welded to a 40mm plate all in 316 stainless using the TIG process multi run, the issues is that the inside of the flange is asking for a 2.5 throat and i would find in a multi run you would manage a 3mm leg length hence why i would want to put a single run, problem was the PQR states on the E1 document (the welding procedure test cert) the details of the welds and on line 13 where it says single run/multi run it states multi run only and i didnt know if i could say on the WPS single run and multi run or if the standards didnt allow this?
the standards i have jsut started using is the BS EN 15614 and its like a minefield until you work with them every day.....
basically can i write a wps to do a fillet 3mm leg etc off the back of a butt weld PQR where a multi run was used?
