Can anyone recommend an AC/DC Tig machine with HF start (and preferably one that isn't going to put too big a hole in the bank)?
Fair enough, a 200A set will do everything you need. Plenty to choose from under 1K, just shy of 1K will get you a Parweld XTT 202, a Thermal Arc 202, a Jasic 200 AC DC etc..Excuse the lack of info.
I can't imagine a situation where I'd be welding anything more than 6mm mild steel, and mostly mild steel and ally of 3mm or less, including sheet ally.
Budget will be what it needs to be, but £1k is going to be tough to justify. The question is more what do I need to spend to get a reasonable welder that ticks the boxes?
Or a Stahlwerk.Fair enough, a 200A set will do everything you need. Plenty to choose from under 1K, just shy of 1K will get you a Parweld XTT 202, a Thermal Arc 202, a Jasic 200 AC DC etc..
All brilliant machines with all the adjustability you'll ever need, my choice would probably be the Parweld out of the lot as it's the best price for the a top quality machine.
Have you considered whether you'd want a foot pedal?
