I will check when I get home rob but almost sure it's the red and black. If you have a multimeter do a continuity test and press the button on the torch switch only two will give continuity, I will verify on my torch later and then just follow what I said in first post. The 2 wires can go anyway around as long as it's the right two as rich said above and on my first postOnly 2 wires are needed for the torch switch to work. What you often find is these torches use a generic cable so that they can be used with up/down switches and thumb wheels etc. you need to find out which 2 wires operate the start button and connect them to the plug where the old ones were. Doesn't matter which way round but you do need the correct two.
No it won’t. If you plug a tig torch into dc+ the tungsten will melt a bit. That’s it.If you get that bit wrong, it'll be a bit expensive to run.
