Should any of the electrics be earthdit aint earthed then is it being DC
Should any of the electrics be earthd
Earth everything. If your making the case/chassis out of metal make a point to bring all your earths to onto it. If your pump is a motor type then the motor case should also be earthed. You have the possibility of a water leak in there so take no chances.Should any of the electrics be earthd
It is a diafram pump so should it be earthed and do I just bolt a wire on to the radiatorEarth everything. Is it 230v?It is a diafram pump so should it be earthed and do I just bolt a wire on to the radiator
What do I need to earth it the power supply I have ordered is like a laptop one but recommended for the pump I boughtthen it won't be earthed you'll just have 2 cores. You will however have to run it through a step down transformer (230-12v) and you connect your earth from the mains to this and also to the case. You'd be better off connecting directly to the cooler case or chassis than the rad because essentially that's the part your going to touch and the part that can be very dangerous if it becomes live for any reason
You can do it 2 ways. What do I need to earth it the power supply I have ordered is like a laptop one but recommended for the pump I bought
This is the one I gotRef connecting to your step down supply have you got a pic of what you've ordered? If it's a laptop supply you'll have to join cables together.
I am trying to ceep the psu out of the case incase of leaks but if I have to I willCan't see the Class II symbol on that power supply to say it's double insulated but if you are going to put it in the case then there's a few ways to do it. For neatness, I would fit an IEC socket to the case rear and use the supplied IEC power cable cut down internally up to the socket and get a new IEC power cable. That way you can run all the wiring for fans, switches and Earth etc from the rear of the socket and pull the power cable out like a PC.

Alternatively, cut the 13Amp plug off the IEC power cable and wire the unit internally (fans/switch/earth connection etc) to a connector block then run a power cable in through a cable gland.
If I ceep the psu out of the case and only have 12 volt going in does it need earthed
