Many years ago a barn full of old bikes was found on a hill farm about 40 miles away. I knew someone involved in clearing the barn, but all i could get out of him was the remains of a 1930's Triumph 250cc single. It was in terrible condition and i never bothered doing much with it, but now i want to use the frame and forks for something else. Some twit wanted the gearbox out of it and instead of chopping the top mounting bolt, they chopped the frame lug.
I have turned up a replacement and want to tig braze it on. The lug is ductile cast iron, and the replacement bit is mild steel. What is the best and strongest filler for this ? Silicon bronze or aluminium bronze ?
