hi all,
i introduce myself: i'm David from italy.
i just started to learn TIG. i will do it as hobby. my target is weld a recumbent 3 wheel bicycle and an Haynes Roadster chassis (Lotus 7 replica). all mild steel.
i had some experiences with MIG before and i spent a lot of time on youtube trying to learn most as possible about TIG welding.
i bought a GYS 200 DC. HF, 4T, Pulse. without pedal.. because just the pedal cost 1/2 of the machine so i decided to try without.
after a couple of weeks of tests (i do 1-2 test/day when i can) i got some results (i know it can be much better..) on the straight as you can see here:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BytZciEVdmvXWGhOSmdUVTEtbm8
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BytZciEVdmvXWGhOSmdUVTEtbm8
but unfortunately.. life is not straight, and when is time to make T joints.. results are miserable and this is the best i was able to do (there are some other tests on the same plates):
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BytZciEVdmvXbWljdlYyTllQNXM
i did it in several passes smoothing the first result. i tried to do something like 'walking the cup' waving the torch between the 2 plates up-down-up-down while travel was left-right (i'm left handed).
it was 75amp, as suggested: http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/tig-calculator.htm
somebody can help me to understand if i'm doing something terribly wrong or is a normal result for a beginner and i just have to keep trying the same way i did? maybe some settings i can try to change?
oh, i forgot. i used 'red' 1.6 tungsten and filler rod 1.6. filler rod 70s3.
thanks,
David
