Hi i have been trying to get my three phase lathe to run from my single phase now for two weeks with no joy,
i have tried a static phase converter (transwave 2.2kw) this run the lathe for 1min then it would trip something in the lathe after a minute it would run again, i have been told that its because its not true three phase and one is a phantom phase and the contacters will not hold. my motor is a 1.5kw.
Had some one come out give me a price to convert to single phase cost of £450+vat and im sure he said he was going to put a capacitor on the motor which i have been told that doing this is no good. I have spoken again to him to see if he can do it any cheaper and he said he will look at an inverter on the original three phase motor i ask will all the original features work light coolant ect he said yes, so im just waiting on a price for that.
I have had another guy come out and he said there is way to many wires in it for him he was just a motor rewind guy.
countless conversations with people over the phone and still i have got no were.
The only options i can see is this guy getting me price on wiring it up with an inverter or ringing transwave asking why the static box did not work and also speak to them about the inverter package they do which is a inverter, motor and control box but i think this way i will loose all the machines features and i just use the control box so no coolant pump, light or the forward and reverse lever.
Has anyone got any other ideas??
