Morning everyone.
Just been doing a little research in to lathe chuck back plates. Now myford have tap and die kits for there spindle size thread. But I did read that some people don't recommend you use the tap threads and it's a preferred method to cut the thread on the lathe. Why ? A hole of the correct diamiter and tapped true will be the same as doing it on the lathe. So I don't see the issue.
