I'm thinking of teaching myself to weld. There are just some jobs which would be so much easier if I had a welder, and there's only one way to put that right!
So, my budget is pretty low - $1000 would be the max really.
I've looked at the little ESAB buddy machines, but this came up today - Mealer (looks generic PRC)

Can anyone help me? The maximum I would likely be welding would be 10mm steel down to 1mm. It would also be useful to heat shrink some bearings which are stuck in blind holes out.
